PITTSBURGH SLEEP IN TEENS STUDY

Youth needed to SLEEP FOR SCIENCE!

Welcome!

Overview of Study

Why is this research being done? Adolescence is period of changes in sleep patterns, as well as changes in thinking and in mood. However, we still don’t know much about how sleep, specifically insufficient sleep, impacts young people’s physical and psychological health. This study seeks to examine the relationship between sleep and changes in mood and thinking as it unfolds over 4 years.

The main study lasts for 4 years. It involves yearly visits to our research labs in Oakland and an at-home sleep assessment, filling out questionnaires on-line every 3 months, and two fMRI brain scans.

Please make sure both the youth and parent are present to proceed with the next steps.
